Perhentian Trip 23 to 26 May 2013

With the start of the mid term school holidays, we took a break to Perhentian Island, after being tempted by Mike's trip report. We stayed at Tuna Bay Resort from 23rd ( Thursday ) until 26th May 2013. Except for my poor choice of route to Kuala Besut, the trip was enjoyable and relaxing, however the 2nd day was greeted by clouds and light rain.

The above maps out the places we've snorkeled during our trip, the names are self given, except for Light House, Tuna Bay and Shark Bay. Pictures here are taken with Lumix TZ30 enclosed in dedicated Marine Case.

First Snorkeling trip on 24th May 2013, Light House reef was not that enjoyable because of strong currents at that time. A scary experience for Vin and Ashley, nonetheless quite nice corals to be found.

Then the boatman brought us to Greedy Bay to feed the fishes.

1st Turtle Sighting at Turtle Bay, had to dive down to about 20 feet to photo this guy eating the sea weed at the bottom.

2nd snorkeling trip the boat guide brought us to Nothing Here Bay, apparently there's many fishes here, water is a little deep, but it has good visibility.

At Shark Bay, we were told we can see black tip sharks, but none to be found when we were there.

Then finally my personal favourite discovered only at the last 1.5 day of our trip, The Rock.
Here, the kids like the place because the abundance of fishes, corals and most of all the sea is shallow. Brendan even saw a turtle at this place.
