Lost Sheep

Hi Everyone near and far

I found my way through the world wide web to this family share. Happy 2008 to everyone, good health and may all your dreams come true.

I have posted here a photo taken immediately after my return from Scotland spotting my new hairdo which was sponsored by the Mackies which cost a cool 70 pounds!!!!

Nice or not?

Will probably be back in Taiping this weekend to spend some time with the folks.

Also I have posted here a photo of Taiping Lake Gardens which Hean Chye calls Heaven on Earth. The photo was taken by a professional photographer hired by a friend of mine. The beautiful picture makes a very nice wallpaper.

Cheers everyone
Agnes

Father's TV and Video Recorder

Hi all,

I was back in Taiping last Saturday and bought father a Panasonic 29" TV and a Carrefour DVD recorder for him to replace the TV which kaput last week. So the Taiping Keng Seng Panasonic was punctual in their delivery and was at Father's house at about 11.00am. They arrived and setup the set without any incident and left with old TV, that saved us the hassle of discarding the old bulky set.

I set up the DVD for him, it was ok, but frankly that DVD recorder is not that user friendly and father is still figuring how to set up timer recording! I was there to help him setup the TV channels for both the TV and Video and that took a long while. It was pass 1pm when I completed setup but it was already way past father's lunch time so I din't manage to write down the step by step for him on how to record the TV programmes.

As for the damage it's RM920 for the branded TV, RM450 for the video, 2 DVDRW, and water filter total RM1370. Will sms you guys my MBB bank account for reimbursements. But all in I think he is happy and appreciative with the new TV and Video.

Been very well and really blossoming already. Next scan is due on 14th Decemeber where most people will be able to adentify our baby being a baby rather than a butter bean. At the moment we have already nicknamed baby butterbean, cute!

Will keep you all up to date. Much love & hugs

Public Pingers..

Hi All,
One of the simplest way to increase traffic to your blogsite is to post information on it to a "public pinger" such as www.petalingstreet.org (Malaysian Pinger)
But since this blog is more of family blog, it's low profile in the WWW but still if you google search cheong blog, it was not pinged for readership.

CheersEd
PS welcome Rob, nice scenery

Greetings from Kota Kinabalu

Hi Everyone! Greetings!

Mike provided info on this blog and here I am. I was over in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah from 12-14/11/07 and thought I'd share some pics I took whilst over there.

I was in between jobs then and had some free time before I start work with new company in KL so I had a short holiday over in Kota Kinabalu and put in 2 games of golf. All these pics were taken in and around Kundasang which is at the foot of Mt. Kinabalu. Weather was nice and cool though a bit wet this time of the year.

Mt Kinabalu is in the background of these pics at 4095metres, it is the highest mountain in South East Asia.
Scott & Sam; make this your next destination???
Cheers
Robert

Scenes from Shinjuku and Shinagawa Seaside

Shinjuku - Main Street ( ~ 100m away from Shinjuku Rail Station to the right of picture )Shinjuku - After walking and being harassed by many pimps, arrived here. Odd looking building (dunno the name) with a pasta restaurant on the ground floor.Durians are sold at Shinjuku! Doesn't smell nice, infact doesn't smell at all and Y4500 can buy a basket back home. ( Daft looking guy in foreground is my colleague from Singapore )Shinagawa Seaside - River walk 7.30am before the day's madness begins. Cool and relaxing.Shinagawa Seaside - We have Peking Duck, Wax Duck and Japanese Raw Duck.Shinagawa Seaside - Oval garden 10.00pm Building to the left of Jusco/Aeon is my employer's employer.

Shinagawa Seaside Tokyo Teleport ( 2 stops away from Shinagawa Seaside ) - Odaiba Toyota City, Palette Town and good view of Tokyo skyline ( Tokyo Tower, Rainbow bridge ) unfortunately my camera ran out of batteries just before the apex of the ride!Lastly I stayed at "Sunroute International Hotels" but where are the marker pins on the rest of the world? Japanese humour to create a grand feel...Konichiwa , Sayonara and itchy bawa!

Greetings from Land Of Rising Sun

Greetings from Tokyo! It is a tiring and rush trip for me, having arrived here on the 7th Nov Tues during my company block leave for Deepavalli Holidays, nevetheless had to be here for a meeting which HQ of course will not postpone as most of the participants had not even heard of Deepavalli! Since its a rush trip, was not able to do much sight seeing but I was able to make it to Shinjuku and nearby Odaiban.
Check in here later for some photos of this trip later...

After Business Trip in France & Netherlands

Hi everyone,

Nice to hear the good news. Congratulations Sam. May God bless you and your baby.

I was just back in Penang after 2 weeks in Europe. Was in France and Holland. It was first time in the European country and it was great. But unfortunately I spend most of the time working because it was a business trip. The food there was nice and I put on 2kg after 2 weeks. Now have to go on diet.
I believe everyone will be busy for Christmas soon. Take care...

Glad to see everybody sharing information on the net. That will be a good way to tell everyone the news.

Congratulation Sam & Scott. We are praying hard so that instead of 2 new additions to the family, we may have 3 (2 from your side of course). So anyone else also have good news to share???

We are doing fine here. My so-call morning sickness is now really happening only in the morning instead of the whole day. Thank goodness. Will keep you update later to see if it will be a boy (again) or a girl.

Take care and keep updating.

Cheers, Nina

First Blog Entry by Edward

Friday 12th
It's Aidil Fitri holidays in Malaysia and we were back since Friday 12th. Journey from Subang started at 4.45am, despite the early hours of the morning the traffic on the highway was heavy, but fortunately moving quite smoothly. At certain areas we were able to hit 135km/h but average was within the speedlimit. The rest stops along the way were all heavily congested, so for those who had to relieve themselves, better do it behind trees along the way.
After 2 hours of continuos drive, fatigue is already beginning to set in, and I failed to notice the camera man hard at work despite at 6.45am in the morning, down hill towards Taiping after Jelapang tunnel. I was probably doing 120km/h at that moment, limit there was 90km/h, shucks, I was told traffic offences are non negotiable these days, so it would be set me back RM300 poorer a few months down.

Sat 13th
Visited mom and dad in the morning and in the afternoon we visited newly opened Tesco near Taiping Gardens, apparently it's the biggest compared to Penang and Ipoh. It is big by Taiping standards and boast of the biggest intergrated parking space shopping centre. Mom and dad were lamenting it was too daunting to look for toothpaste at Tesco and ended purchasing it at Watson's within the same building.
Mike and Pat arrived in the evening and suggested we have dinner together. I suggested to have dinner at the new market intead of restaurant, so after long very long wait of 1 hour, yes yes, that place is slow, our food finally arrived, we had radish soup, kai lan with siew yok, tau cheung fish, bitter gourd chicken, and taufu with snake head fish. Mike graciuosly paid for dinner and his look on his face was very similar to that mastercard add:
"Cost of carpark and petrol RM3.00, wait 1 hour for food: bearable because he had his new Olympus SLR to keep him busy, ( Mike please post the shots ), Dinner Cost for 6 of us only RM32.00, the look on his face when he paid for dinner : Priceless! "
Sunday 14th
Attended mass with Pa and Ma in St Louis church. Happens to be Rev Fr Stanley's first mass after being recently ordained as priest. He is from Taiping and as such this Sunday's mass had a tea party to welcome him. Photos below taken at church's premises:

Monday 15th
Brendan and I went for bicycle ride to the lake gardens. It was a beautiful morning, cool and refreshing because it was raining cats and dogs literally everyday day in the afternoon. Brendan's still a beginner at cycling, little clumsy and wobbly but that din't stop him from enjoying the ride to the lake gardens:

It was pouring in Taiping every day. Wet Wet Wet!
